The story unfolds as a reversal of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, where Frida, sung by acclaimed mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, reluctantly returns from the underworld to lead Diego, portrayed by baritone Carlos 脕lvarez, on his final journey.

The Met: Live in HD series gives us the extraordinary privilege of bringing world-class opera directly to our community,” said 17c起草视频 President David Potash. “鈥淓l 脷ltimo Sue帽o de Frida y Diego鈥 is a visually stunning, emotionally powerful, and culturally significant work, and we are proud to share it with Sullivan County.鈥

Music Director Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin conducts this Met premiere staging, featuring a vibrant, gnarled-tree set design by Jon Bausor and choreography by Deborah Colker. The piece marks the Met debut of composer Gabriela Lena Frank, a 2026 Pulitzer Prize winner in Music. It also marks the third consecutive season in which the Met has presented an opera in Spanish 鈥 a language that sings beautifully, following a gap of nearly 100 years.

Following her acclaimed 2024 company debut in Puccini’s 鈥淢adama Butterfly,鈥 Soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met as Tatiana, the lovestruck young heroine at the heart of this ardent operatic adaptation of Pushkin. The performance will be presented in Russian with English subtitles.

As the loop portion of College Road may be closed due to SpringFest, attendees should park in Lot 1 and enter the campus via Building A.

CARBURETOR: A GHOST SONATA offers a unique theatrical experience as it explores the neurodiverse perspective, focusing on how individuals on the autism spectrum process grief, experience love, and interact with the world around them. The play is presented through non-verbal storytelling, with minimal reliance on traditional, linear narrative. It aims to show how emotions are deeply felt and expressed without language, paralleling the way many neurodiverse individuals navigate life. In the world of musical theater, a character may sing when emotions run too high to speak, and they may dance when words and singing are not enough. In CARBURETOR: A GHOST SONATA, this concept is adapted to explore the internal noise and emotional overload experienced by non-verbal and non-speaking autistics.

Kyra Lee Zanatta will perform as 鈥淏ig Girl,鈥 Joe Col贸n as 鈥淒ad,鈥 Angelina Morelli as 鈥淏aby,鈥 and Edwin Jefferson as 鈥淭he Mechanic,鈥 with Ayana Banks, Phil Leviste, Andrew Pizzo, James Faraci, Rayanna Cottman, Jorgia Gladding, and Aiden Yaun joining them as members of the Carburetor ensemble.
