SUMMARY:Spring Theater Production of "Fuenteovejuna/The Sheep Well"
DESCRIPTION:The 17c起草视频 Theater Arts program is proud to announce performances for Lope deVega鈥檚 鈥淔uenteovejuna/The Sheep Well\,鈥� a revolutionary classical Spanish play adapted and directed by Jessica L贸pez-Barkl. The 2023-2024 Theater season explores the theme of identity\, with each play delving deep into the difficult choices characters make as they begin to determine who they truly are. \nThe great Spanish author Lope de Vega (1562鈥�1635) wrote 鈥淔uenteovejuna/The Sheep Well鈥� in 1612 after he was inspired by a historical incident: farmers and peasants of the village of Fuente Ovejuna rose up against a military commander and his soldiers who routinely brutalized and oppressed them. \n鈥淔uenteovejuna/The Sheep Well鈥� will be performed outdoors at the 17c起草视频 Labyrinth on April 27\, May 1\, and May 3 at 6 p.m.\, and May 5 at 2 p.m. \nTickets are a suggested donation of $10 to the 17c起草视频 Theater Arts program/Performing Arts club.
