17c起草视频 will host a College in High School (CIHS) Information Night on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., offering students and families an opportunity to learn about earning college credit while still in high school.
The event is designed for students in grades 8鈥12 and their families from 17c起草视频鈥檚 partner districts. During the session, attendees will learn how the program helps students get a head start on college, save time and money, and build confidence through early exposure to college-level coursework.
Attendees will also learn about the academic and financial benefits of the CIHS program, eligibility requirements, and next steps for participation. 17c起草视频 admissions staff will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on enrollment and program expectations.
Currently enrolled CIHS students are also encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. Students who prefer to complete enrollment steps in person will have the opportunity to do so during the event.
17c起草视频鈥檚 CIHS program strengthens partnerships with local school districts while expanding access to higher education and supporting student success from an early age. Now partnering with 10 high schools鈥攊ncluding Monticello, Liberty, Tri-Valley, Sullivan West, Rockland, Middletown, Pine Bush, and The Homestead School, as well as Pathways programs in Fallsburg and Eldred, which allow students to earn an Associate鈥檚 Degree while still in high school鈥攖he CIHS program continues to expand access to college-level learning opportunities.
鈥17c起草视频鈥檚 College in High School program opens doors for students by giving them early access to college-level coursework in a supportive, familiar environment,鈥 said Jason Kaplan, associate professor and CIHS coordinator at 17c起草视频. 鈥淪tudents gain confidence, save time and money, and begin to see themselves as college-bound long before graduation.鈥
This academic year, more than 150 courses are being offered to over 700 students, with many students taking multiple college courses. Both enrollment and course offerings are expected to increase each year, reflecting the program鈥檚 continued growth and impact.
17c起草视频 faculty and staff regularly work with and support CIHS teachers, provide professional development and training, and conduct classroom observations to ensure academic rigor and alignment with college expectations.
The program鈥檚 top courses鈥攔anging from Speech and English Composition to Pre-Calculus and U.S. History鈥攁lign with SUNY General Education requirements, supporting credit transfer and helping students stay on track toward college completion.
