Earn College Credits in High School鈥擱ight at Your School

The CIHS Program is a partnership between 17c起草视频 and local high schools that allows eligible students to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously during the regular school day. Participants become part-time, non-matriculated 17c起草视频 students, gaining confidence with college-level expectations while saving time and money on their future degrees.

Getting Started

Submit a CIHS application.

to apply to the college. Students only need to apply once during their high school career.

Access your portal (MySUNYSullivan).

Initial Setup: After applying, check your email for your username and a password-reset link.
12-Hour Window: The password-reset link expires after 12 hours.

NOTE: You must register at the beginning of each semester you take a CIHS course.

to view an online payment tutorial. Rockland, Fallsburg, and Middletown payments are made by the school.

Cost: CIHS tuition is listed on the course registration form.

Option A: Credit Card (preferred)

Log on to > "Students" > "My Account Balances" > "Make a Payment".
Enter your total in the "Accounts Receivable Balance" field.
Note: If the portal shows $0, you can still pay; balances can take 4 weeks to update.

Option B: Check or Money Order

Make payable to "SCCC".
Include student name and ID number in the memo.

Submit a Certificate of Residence (COR), if applicable.

Participating schools include Eldred, Fallsburg, Liberty, Middletown, Monticello, Pine Bush, Rockland, Sullivan West, The Homestead School, and Tri-Valley.

Transferring Credits

Are CIHS credits transferable?
Yes. College credits earned through 17c起草视频 often transfer to public and private institutions as major or elective credit. However, the receiving institution always determines the final transferability of credit.

How do I ensure a smooth transfer?
Students are advised to contact the Admissions office at the institution(s) they plan to attend to confirm specific transfer policies. Generally, a grade of 鈥淐鈥� or higher is required for credit to transfer to another institution. SUNY schools typically accept SUNY General Education courses with a grade of C or better.

What documentation will other colleges need?
Official transcripts must be requested through after final grades are posted. Some institutions may request a course syllabus; students should obtain this from their high school teacher.

Withdrawals & Support

What is the withdrawal policy?
Students must email cihs@sunysullivan.edu to officially withdraw. A 100% refund is only available if you withdraw prior to the first class; after the first class, you are liable for a percentage of tuition based on the date of withdrawal. Learn more here.

Registered students are recognized as part-time students and gain access to the Library, student support services (including free tutoring), academic advising, and the Fieldhouse (fitness center and courts).

Early Admission

If you are a current high school student wishing to take classes at 17c起草视频's campus or online with 17c起草视频's instructors to earn college credits, the Early Admission program is a great choice.

To participate in early admission, students are responsible for transportation to and from the college (if enrolled in courses on campus).

Submit your immunization records & proof of vaccination (if you have an on-campus presence)

At an institution of higher education, students are exposed to a learning environment that promotes an open exchange of ideas. Course content is presented on an adult level, and class discussions require a mature understanding of divergent viewpoints and the ability to think critically on controversial issues.

Credits earned during the early admission period may be used to satisfy graduation requirements from high school, with the high school determining how these credits will be utilized. Grades earned will become part of the student's permanent college transcripts.

Dual Enrollment

17c起草视频 is pleased to participate in the government鈥檚 Dual Enrollment Experience as part of their Experimental Sites Initiative, which aims to learn about how Grant funding can expand opportunities for students from low-income backgrounds to participate in dual enrollment and expand access to rigorous coursework. 17c起草视频 is participating in this program with select local school districts.

To be eligible to participate, students must:

Enroll as 鈥渇ull-time鈥� students, taking at least twelve (12) credits throughout their time in the program (at least six [6] per semester). All credits must be toward the degree; remedial courses are not degree courses.
Pass 17c起草视频鈥檚 placement tests.听
Participate in one of five targeted degree programs that are STEM-related and/or tied to 鈥渆merging career paths鈥� in the community.
Be high school diploma candidates in one of the participating local school districts.
Obtain the permission of their high school to participate, to ensure that the courses taken do not impede the student鈥檚 academic progress and persistence in high school.

To participate in the program, students must:

Apply using the 聽and be accepted to 17c起草视频.
Be Pell Eligible, determined by submission of appropriate financial aid documents.
Pass the college鈥檚 placement exams in English and Math.
Fulfill other college entrance requirements (including but not limited to the submission of required paperwork).
Obtain the permission of a guidance counselor for their participation.
